These Terms & Conditions govern your purchase of tickets to, and attendance at, events organized by Sum of Five. By buying a ticket you agree to the terms below.
Sum of Five is a brand operated by 15772877 Canada Inc., the legal entity responsible for these terms and for Sum of Five events and communications.
1. Refund Policy
You may request a full refund to your original payment method in either of these cases:
- The event has been postponed by Sum of Five — see section 2.
- The event is more than 7 days away at the time of your request. No reason is required.
Within 7 days of the event, ticket sales are final: by that point the reservation is committed to the venue and the seat is unlikely to be resold. Tickets remain transferable at any time — email us the name of whoever is attending in your place.
Request a refund yourself at thesumof5.com/refund using your order number or the name on the order. Eligible refunds are processed immediately to the card you paid with and typically appear within 5–7 business days.
2. Tickets Bought on Eventbrite
If you bought your ticket through Eventbrite, Eventbrite holds the payment and is the only place it can be refunded. Please request your refund through your Eventbrite order confirmation (“Request a refund”). The policy in section 1 is the policy we apply to those requests; our own refund page cannot process them.
3. Postponed Events
If an event is postponed, your ticket automatically transfers to the rescheduled date. No action is required on your part — your existing ticket and QR code remain valid for the new date.
If the rescheduled date does not work for you, you are entitled to a full refund. The 7-day cut-off in section 1 does not apply to a postponed event: you may request that refund at any point up to the rescheduled date, at thesumof5.com/refund or by email at support@thesumof5.com.
4. Cancelled Events
If an event is cancelled outright by Sum of Five, you will receive a full refund to your original payment method. No request is necessary.
5. Changes to Events
Sum of Five reserves the right to change the venue, date, or programming of any event, or to cancel an event entirely, at our discretion. Where a change materially affects your ticket, the postponement and refund terms above apply. Venue addresses are published on each event page and we notify ticket holders directly of any change.
6. Transactional Communications
By purchasing a ticket, you agree to receive transactional emails and messages related to your purchase — including order confirmations, tickets and QR codes, event reminders, and notices of any changes to event details. These messages are necessary to deliver your ticket and are separate from marketing communications, which require your explicit consent.
7. Age Requirement
Attendees must be of legal age for the event they attend. Many Sum of Five events are held at licensed venues and are restricted to guests 19 years of age or older — the legal drinking age in Ontario. Age requirements are noted on each event listing, and valid government-issued photo ID may be required for entry.
8. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Ontario and the federal laws of Canada applicable therein. Any disputes arising from these Terms or your attendance at an event are subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Ontario, Canada.
